How to Get Your Mirrors and Windows Sparkling Clean
We all know how frustrating it is when cleaning our mirrors and windows!
No matter how hard you try and clean off those dirty marks and smudges off, they just wont budge!

Step One: Cleaning Solution
Don’t waste your money on expensive cleaning products when you can use common household items that are probably already in your cupboard.
What you need:
- Dish Detergent
- Large Bucket
- Warm Water
If your mirrors and windows need extra help, you can add:
- Lemon
- Ammonia
- White Vinegar
Pour warm water into a large bucket, mixing one or two teaspoons of dish detergent into a solution.
For better results, add four tablespoons of lemon.
If your mirrors and windows are suffocating with excessive grime, add either white vinegar or ammonia to your solution.
Step Two: Cleaning Tools
Having the right cleaning tools is essential to having crystal-clear mirrors and windows. Here are some great tools you can use:
- Microfiber Cloth
- Newspaper
Using the wrong tools can result in increased smudging and extra work! Use these tools for sparkling clean mirrors and windows to brighten up your home.
Step Three: Cleaning Method
As important as the tools are to cleaning your mirrors and windows, the end results will be better with the right technique!
- Dampen your cloth with your cleaning solution
- Start from the top left corner and rub clean each bit of dirt one by one
- After the stuck on bits of dirt have been wiped away, clean the entire mirror/window using a zig-zag stroke
- Using a microfibre cloth to clean your mirrors and windows usually dries it whilst cleaning, if you want to give it an extra dry, use a newspaper as this also helps to polish it
